Our latest creation: Maluku Gold Cloves

We are proud to launch our newest creation: the Maluku Gold Cloves Chocolate Bar, made in collaboration with Heinde & Verre, widely regarded as one of the finest chocolate makers in the world. This unique 69% dark chocolate blends single-origin cacao from West Papua with cloves from Ambon and nutmeg from the Banda Islands.


These spices are a nod to our heritage, and to the cultural richness of the Maluku Islands. While their history is tied to Amsterdam's prosperity during the spice trade, it also carries stories of resilience in the face of hardship.


This Single Origin and direct trade cacao comes from the Ebier Suth Cokran cooperative in West Papua, supporting 200 local workers, while the spices are sourced directly from family farms in the Maluku Islands.

With Heinde & Verre's Split Roast technique enhancing the cacao's natural complexity, this bar offers a symphony of flavors—notes of licorice, flowers, and fruit, perfectly balanced with warm cloves and a touch of nutmeg.


This special chocolate is available exclusively at Cacao & Spice, located in Amsterdam’s historic old harbor—where the first cacao and spices arrived centuries ago. Visit us in-store or online to experience this celebration of craftsmanship, heritage, and exceptional flavor.
